At Grounded, we’re redefining what’s possible in specialty vehicles, and we’re looking for a CAD Designer to help bring the future of mobility to life.

In this role, you’ll merge creativity, technical insight, and rapid 3D design skills to develop breakthrough concepts that expand what’s possible in specialty vehicles. We are looking for people that think outside the box and are willing to experiment and challenge the existing industry paradigm. You’ll work across disciplines—mechanical, electrical, and design—to translate bold ideas into tangible prototypes, testable systems and eventually production specialty vehicles.

We’re seeking inventive, hands-on people who thrive in the ambiguous early stages of product development, love working at the intersection of design and engineering, and are eager to turn sketches and ideas into working reality. What You'll Do

• Design full concept vehicle bodies, interior modules, hardware systems and futuristic concepts for various Grounded specialty vehicle types and projects in Siemens NX.
• Draft technical drawings for designed components and perform basic GD&T analysis for critical hardware stackups.
• Lead standardization of Grounded's CAD and drafting processes, metadata and part management conventions in Siemens Teamcenter.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to bring ideas to tangible concepts in 3D space.
• Render 3D spaces for customers and internal use to understand space constraints and workflows for different commercial customers.
• Present and iterate concepts through sketches, renderings and CAD.
• Contribute to Grounded’s culture of innovation by pushing creative boundaries and challenging assumptions.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in concept development, R&D, or advanced prototyping.
• 5+ years of proven experience using NX and Teamcenter to create early-stage models and assemblies.
• Foundational GD&T knowledge
• Demonstrated hands-on prototyping and fabrication skills (e.g., machining, 3D printing, composites, electronics).
• Curiosity for emerging technologies and a drive to explore unconventional solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
