Join our esteemed healthcare team as an Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology specialist, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and outcomes. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in a busy clinical environment, managing a diverse patient population, including outpatient clinics, infusion centers, and hospital consults. Key responsibilities include managing 15-20 clinic patients daily, overseeing 45 infusion patients through the infusion center, collaborating with hospitalists for patient admissions, and conducting hematology/oncology consultations. The clinic operates from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with limited telephone call duties. You will work alongside experienced OCN nurses and a multidisciplinary team that includes onsite radiation oncology, surgery, IR, and laboratory services. NPs assist with patient visits every other visit and treatment, while MDs evaluate new patients, ensuring comprehensive care.
Required Skills:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) with valid and unrestricted medical license
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
- Proven experience managing outpatient and infusion center patients
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and infusion therapies
- Prior experience collaborating with multidisciplinary oncology teams
- Familiarity with EMR systems and telemedicine platforms
- Additional certifications in infusion therapy or palliative care
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Completion of a specialized fellowship in Hematology and Oncology
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an oncology-focused setting
- Prior experience working within hospital and outpatient clinics
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work onsite with limited remote duties
- Willingness to participate in call rotations if required
- All relevant licenses and certifications maintained current
- Willingness to travel for relevant training or conferences when necessary
