Operating Room Assistants support surgical teams by preparing and maintaining operating room equipment and materials during and between cases. They assist with case clean-up, turnaround, transportation, and may specialize in equipment or anesthesia technology. This role requires certification in BLS and works within a patient-focused healthcare environment.
Description
Operating room assistants will be assigned to teams and Operating rooms to provide support. ORA's will be expert technical assistants within specialty groupings. During cases ORA's will prepare materials and equipment or assure that all materials and equipment are ready for the cases. Between cases, ORA are expected to provide timely assistance. ORA responsibilities will include all activities that are required for case clean up, case turnaround, transportation and any other activities as directed. ORA may function as an equipment specialist and/or anesthesia tech.
