REQUIREMENTS
- U.S. Juris Doctorate Degree for Attorney candidates.
- Admission to the District of Columbia Bar is expected if not currently admitted for Attorney candidates.
- Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar background.
- Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications is also required.
- Experience in drafting patentability, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions, as well as general client counseling in Intellectual Property issues, is considered a plus.
- Experience practicing patent law and proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others on complex matters.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
- Strong legal writing skills are essential.
- Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and oral.
- Consistently excellent judgment is essential.
- Must be a self-starter, have the ability to prioritize workload, and work well under pressure.
- Possessing strong analytical skills is essential.
- Industry, court clerk, and/or USPTO examiner experience desirable.
- Experience and skill in analyzing patents is strongly preferred.
