Remote Pilot Operator at L30 – SAIC Location: Las Vegas, NV, US Job ID: 2511559 Schedule: Part-Time Clearance: None currently; Public Trust clearance required. Potential Remote Work: No Job Description The Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) plays the role of the pilot and other controllers in the Air Traffic Controller training simulator. The RPO operates a combination of a simulated radar display and voice communication system to simulate the actions and communication of pilots and remote ATC facilities during medium and high‑fidelity training exercises. RPOs receive voice commands from students, input proper entries into the automated system to simulate pilot actions, translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology, and respond to the student via the VCS using proper phraseology. This is NOT a UAS, UAV, RPV, or drone pilot position. The candidate will be required to complete the following certifications: Classroom (pass test on airspace and procedures) and Lab (perform as a Remote Pilot Operator on all positions). Responsibilities Operate the simulated radar display and voice communication system during training exercises. Receive and process voice commands from students. Input accurate entries into the automated system to represent pilot actions. Translate displayed information into ATC terminology. Respond to students via the VCS with proper phraseology. Qualifications US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. High school diploma or equivalent and basic computer proficiency. Ability to read and interpret materials such as diagrams and manuals. Clear, understandable speech. Desired Skills and Experience Experience working in a multidisciplinary team. Experience and certification in ATC Tower, TRACON or En Route simulation lab (strongly desired). Effective oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of FAA JO 7110.65 (strongly desired). Team building skills. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency. Familiarity with current technology tools (tablets, notebooks, applications).
