Billing / Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Support Specialist

GrowthAssistant is looking for a Billing / Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Support Specialist to join our client's expanding healthcare operations team. You'll be part of a high-performing group that ensures accurate insurance verification, clean claims processing, and reliable patient billingcritical to the overall patient experience.

What You'll Do

Verification of Benefits (VOB):

• Review and verify patient insurance information before appointments.
• Confirm eligibility, coverage, deductibles, co-pays, and pre-authorizations.
• Accurately document benefit details in the EMR system for provider reference.

Claims & Billing Support:

• Prepare and submit clean claims through payer portals or billing tools.
• Track claim statuses, follow up on denials, and process resubmissions.
• Support payment posting, adjustments, and refund reconciliations.

Revenue Cycle Operations:

• Maintain accurate billing and benefits records in spreadsheets and EMR systems.
• Generate reports on outstanding claims, denials, and collections.
• Support audits, compliance checks, and special billing projects.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with clinical, finance, and operations teams to resolve billing issues.
• Communicate updates promptly and professionally across teams.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

• 2+ years of experience in medical billing, RCM support, or healthcare admin.
• 1+ year hands-on experience with Verification of Benefits (VOB) for U.S. insurance providers.
• Familiar with payer portals (Aetna, UHC, Availity, etc.) and claim submission tools.
• Strong understanding of healthcare terminology, EOBs, co-pays, and deductibles.
• Exceptional attention to detailable to complete ~50 VOBs per day.
• Proficient in Zendesk, Slack, Google Workspace, and Google Sheets/MS Excel.
• Prior HIPAA compliance experience and understanding of patient confidentiality.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with OpenEPM or similar EMR systems.
• Exposure to startups or rapidly scaling healthcare organizations.

• Collaborating effectively with billing managers and team leads.
• Maintaining organized, compliant, and error-free records.
