Job Description

CAR WASH MANAGER

Reports to:  Regional Manager

Supervises:  Car Wash Staff

Nature of Work:  Provide overall day-to-day direction to store personnel to provide efficient and quality service to customers. Duties include managing staff, responding to customer complaints, and maintaining inventory. They may also conduct safety training, hold staff meetings, and ensure the necessary service of any equipment at the facility. Administrative responsibilities of a car wash maintenance manager may include invoicing, keeping track of discount codes, and scheduling staff.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic equipment, PLC's, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
  • Perform diagnostic analysis on state-of-the-art automated vehicle wash equipment
  • Perform periodic scheduled maintenance of vehicle wash equipment
  • Repair and correct malfunctions as necessary
  • Assess customer chemical solutions and accurately measure application of wash chemistry.
  • Modify or implement updates on equipment as required
  • Maintain tools, test equipment and materials in a professional manner
  • Accurately interpret information from others
  • Assures appropriate flow of information and reports matters clearly, concisely, and accurately
  • Actively participate in the problem-solving process regarding customer complaints
  • Interface with customers and appropriate related company personnel to ensure effective communication and dissemination of information required in establishing superior customer service.
  • Assist in the installation of new vehicle wash equipment as necessary.
  • May travel to customer sites throughout multiple service areas.

Additional Compensation: Quarterly bonuses totaling up to $4,000 annually. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  To successfully perform the essential functions of the position, the employee must be able to read and write English. Previous management/supervisory experience is required. Good technical knowledge and math skills are required. The employee must be able to reach four feet in height overhead, bending, and stretching are used constantly.

Scope of Position:  This position reports to the Regional Manager and has direct supervisory responsibilities for all store personnel. This position is also an hourly rate and non-exempt position.

Working Conditions:  This position works in a garage environment 100% of the time. Exposure to heavy equipment, slick surfaces and hot-cold temperatures may require limited travel.

  • Safe work habits for self and store personnel, hold monthly safety meetings for staff.
  • Clean and proper uniform and good hygiene; enforces requirements for store personnel.
  • Act as a model of excellence for store personnel.
  • Communicate and enforce all company rules and policies.
  • Attend manager meetings each month.
  • Investigate promptly and accurately any customer service issues.
  • Investigate promptly and report any employee issues or concerns to supervisor and appropriate corporate personnel.
  • Follow and enforce all Environmental rules and policies
  • Follow and enforce all State and Federal labor codes as they apply.
