Job Description

Warehouse Director

Our client, a leader in luxury eyewear, has an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Warehouse Director. The position is responsible for leading, optimizing, and scaling all warehouse and distribution operations for the company's North American business, located on Long Island. This role oversees the end-to-end flow of goods between the eyeglass lens laboratory and the warehouse facility where frames are inventoried, processed, picked, packed, and shipped. This leader ensures that both e-commerce and retail partner orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with service-level expectations. The Director drives cross-departmental coordination, operational excellence, and continuous improvement by leveraging SAP B1, Prodemux, Optivision, and other operational and logistics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Fulfillment Management:

Oversee all warehouse operations, including inbound receiving, inventory management, pick-and-pack, and outbound shipping.

Ensure seamless product flow between the eyeglass lens laboratory and the warehouse to support timely order production and fulfillment.

Maintain high accuracy and productivity standards across all fulfillment channels (online orders, retail orders, wholesale orders).

Develop and monitor KPIs for order accuracy, turnaround time, operational efficiency, and labor productivity.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

Serve as the primary operational link between the lens laboratory, warehouse teams, manufacturing, customer service, logistics partners, and retail operations.

Coordinate the movement of frames, lenses, and finished goods through all required departments to meet customer deadlines.

Partner with the lens lab leadership to forecast production needs and manage capacity planning.

Systems, Technology, and Process Optimization:

Oversee the effective use of SAP B1, Prodemux, Optivision, and additional internal software used for order processing, inventory flow, and production management.

Lead system integrations, workflow design, configuration improvements, and troubleshooting across platforms.

Identify bottlenecks and implement process enhancements that reduce turnaround time, increase accuracy, and optimize labor allocation.

Champion automation opportunities and technology-driven solutions for scaling warehouse throughput.

Inventory Control & Quality Assurance:

Direct inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels, proper rotation, and minimal shrinkage.

Maintain quality standards across receiving, storage, and fulfilling orders.

Conduct regular audits to ensure system data (SAP B1, Optivision, Prodemux) matches physical counts.

Leadership & Workforce Management:

Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, team leads, and staff to create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Manage labor planning, scheduling, and cross-training to support peak periods.

Ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment, aligned with OSHA and corporate safety programs.

Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement:

Develop and execute annual operating plans for warehouse performance, staffing, budget, and equipment.

Recommend and manage investments in equipment, automation, racking, and facility improvements.

Drive Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational improvement methodologies to elevate performance.

Qualifications Required:

710+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment center leadership.

Experience managing complex product flows across multiple operational departments or facilities.

Strong working knowledge of SAP B1, Prodemux, and Optivision, or comparable ERP and order management systems.

Proven track record of improving warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.

Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, production flow, and order fulfillment operations.

Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Ability to analyze data, diagnose issues, and implement process improvements.

Preferred:

Experience in eyewear, medical devices, or another highly regulated or assembly-dependent environment.

Familiarity with lab-to-warehouse workflows, especially lens cutting/edging processes.

Background with e-commerce, retail distribution, or omnichannel fulfillment.

Lean, Six Sigma, or similar operational improvement certifications.
