Illustrative image: a giant perfume bottle breaking out of a billboard on an Istanbul street at night as a crowd watches

FOOH advertising examples are the quickest way to see how many industries the format can serve. Here we have gathered 10 FOOH projects Clytech produced, grouped by sector: eight for fashion, beauty, jewellery, tech and gaming brands, plus two international pieces set in Paris and London. They include SUWEN's bus stop film, which passed 58 million views, and PUBG Mobile's campaign, which passed 30 million.

FOOH (fake out-of-home) is a social video in which giant products, objects or scenes that aren't really there are added to real city footage with CGI. Our FOOH production page covers how the format is made and what shapes a project; here we focus on the examples.

What makes a good FOOH example?

A good FOOH makes viewers ask "is this real?" in the first second and keeps them watching until they have an answer. When you look at the examples below, we suggest judging them on five points:

  1. A familiar place: A location everyone knows makes the unexpected object hit harder.
  2. A one-sentence idea: An image you can describe in a single line, such as "a giant bottle breaks through a billboard".
  3. Scale: The product or brand goes far beyond its real size.
  4. Believability: Light, shadow and camera movement match the real footage exactly.
  5. A feed-ready format: A vertical edit for social media with a strong first frame.

Examples from Clytech

We have grouped the examples by sector. For each one, we briefly cover the idea, the format and, where there is one, the verified result.

Fashion

SUWEN bus stop CGI film. For SUWEN, we turned an ordinary bus stop into a brand showcase. The digital installation sits within real street footage and puts the collection on display at city scale; the vertical film passed 58 million views.

Vatkalı bag collection CGI film. Vatkalı's bag collection scales up into a bold digital installation. Placed within real footage, the scene shows the collection at city scale and gives the brand a cinematic presence.

Beauty and skincare

MAD Parfum, giant bottle billboard breakout. A giant perfume bottle smashes through a city billboard, dissolving the line between reality and imagination. This hyper-real illusion turns conventional outdoor advertising into an immersive brand experience, built to spark conversation online.

Bioderma, giant serums over the Bosphorus. Giant bottles of Bioderma's signature serums rise from the waters of the Bosphorus as passers-by stop to take in the surreal view. The campaign pairs skincare with Istanbul's iconic scenery and was designed to spark curiosity and spread across social media.

Jewellery

Reis Kuyumculuk, flood of boxes. Reis Kuyumculuk's boutique turns into a surreal CGI spectacle as hundreds of the brand's signature boxes flood out of the storefront. The illusion channels luxury, abundance and brand power into a single visual idea.

Tech

HONOR, giant phone reveal at Maiden's Tower. In front of Istanbul's Maiden's Tower, a giant HONOR smartphone appears partly veiled in a flowing red drape, the image of a dramatic product reveal. The activation blends technology with heritage and turns the landmark into a launch stage.

Tecno, hot air balloons over Cappadocia. Giant branded hot air balloons rise above Cappadocia's fairy chimneys, giving the famous skyline a new reading. The location becomes a stage for the brand, with natural scenery and digital craft blending together.

Gaming

PUBG Mobile, 100th Year of the Republic. For the Republic of Turkey's 100th anniversary, the game's giant supply drops parachute onto skylines in six regions: Izmir, Ankara, Mardin, the Black Sea region, Antalya and Istanbul. Bringing gaming culture into a national celebration, the campaign passed 30 million views.

International

J.Lindeberg, Paris Olympics. Celebrating J.Lindeberg's sponsorship of the US Golf Team at the Paris Olympics, this film flips the Eiffel Tower upside down into a giant golf tee, with a massive golf ball resting on top. Using Paris's best-known landmark as the brand's stage, it unites sport and culture in a single illusion.

The Future is Here, London. A giant banner unfolds across London's iconic bridge to reveal the message "The Future is Here". Produced as Clytech's own brand piece, the illusion weaves technology and creativity into the fabric of the city.

Clytech is a CGI, FOOH and AI advertising studio based in Istanbul and London. We have delivered 150+ projects for 85+ brands in 15+ countries, and our work has passed 500 million views in total.

Which FOOH formats do these examples use?

The ten examples fall into six formats. The table can help you pick the right one for your own idea.

Lessons from these examples

What ten very different projects have in common is that the format works regardless of sector. Use these lessons when you weigh up your own FOOH idea:

  • Make the product big and keep the place familiar. Giant bottle, giant phone, giant serums: the scale changes, the setting stays recognisable.
  • Play with the rules of outdoor advertising. A bottle breaking through a billboard, or boxes a shop window can't hold, breaks a pattern viewers already know.
  • Borrow landmarks respectfully. Maiden's Tower, the Eiffel Tower or Cappadocia can be the brand's stage, but the brand doesn't own the stage.
  • Trust a single image. Every example here can be told in one sentence; adding a second idea splits the impact.
  • Choose geography to fit the message. A national moment may need several regions, while a launch may need just one landmark.
  • Invest in believability. If the light, shadows and camera match are weak, viewers spot the trick in the first second.

To turn these lessons into a plan, follow the four steps in how to plan a FOOH campaign.

Frequently asked questions

Which FOOH example has the most views?

Among the examples here, SUWEN's bus stop film leads with over 58 million views. PUBG Mobile's campaign for the Republic's 100th anniversary passed 30 million.

Which industries does FOOH work for?

The examples here run from fashion and beauty to jewellery, tech and gaming. The format depends less on the sector than on the idea: an unexpected scale in a familiar place.

Is FOOH the same as a 3D billboard?

No. A 3D (anamorphic) billboard plays on a physical screen and is watched on site; FOOH is a video produced on real location footage and watched on social media.

Do you produce FOOH outside Turkey?

Yes, as the Paris and London examples show. We work across Turkey, starting with Istanbul, and abroad.

Do you need filming permits for FOOH?

It depends on the location and how it is filmed. When permits are needed, we obtain them, or on some projects the brand does; we settle this during planning.

Let's build your own FOOH example

A good FOOH idea often starts with one question: what would your brand look like in the city at a scale nobody has seen before? To talk it through, send us your brief and we'll come back within 24 hours with an approach. You'll find more examples in our company presentation.
