The strongest holiday campaign ideas take a symbol everyone recognises from the season (lights, gifts, a festive table, a city celebration) and put the brand's product inside it in a way nobody expects. CGI and AI make it possible to build those scenes at a scale that would be hard to stage in real life, and to deliver them in the vertical formats social feeds run on. This guide covers idea patterns for New Year and other key dates, which formats suit which occasion, and examples from Clytech's seasonal work. If you want to see the service itself, our CGI commercial production page is the place to start.
A seasonal campaign is a brand joining a moment the whole calendar shares. Because everyone posts on the same day, the way to stand out is not to shout louder but to arrive with a clearer, more visual idea.
What do CGI and AI add to a seasonal campaign?
CGI and AI let you fit the feeling of the day into one memorable scene. Chocolates pouring out of a metro train, or a giant gift box landing on a city skyline, are hard to build physically, yet viewers understand them instantly.
- Scale: the product or the seasonal symbol grows to city size, so the viewer stops in the first second.
- A familiar place: a metro platform, a square, a mall or a well-known skyline makes the scene believable and shareable.
- Brand colour and product accuracy: packaging, logo and colours are checked against brand guidelines.
- Flexible versions: one idea can become vertical, square and horizontal cuts, with different language or message layers.
If you are weighing which approach fits your brief, our AI commercial production page explains where AI is strongest.
Which idea patterns work for New Year?
New Year ideas that work usually fall into one of four patterns: the city turns into a celebration, the product becomes the gift, the festive table grows, or a place is rewritten with light.
| Idea pattern | What it looks like | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| City celebration | A known square or skyline becomes the brand's New Year stage. | Mass-market brands, tech, gaming |
| Giant gift | The product or pack appears as a city-sized present. | Giftware, beauty, accessories |
| Festive table | The product plays a natural but amplified role at the seasonal table. | Food, drink, tableware and home |
| A place lit up | A store, window or mall turns into a sparkling show. | Retail, malls, fashion |
For malls specifically, our guide to shopping mall CGI campaigns covers venue-led ideas in more depth.
Which other occasions are worth planning for?
Any date your brand has a genuine connection to is an opportunity; what matters is a natural bridge between the meaning of the day and the product.
- Valentine's Day: romantic illusions, red and heart symbols, gift products.
- National days: on days such as Turkey's Republic Day, a respectful, celebratory tone that puts the shared feeling first.
- Awareness days: days with a colour or symbol, like World Red Dress Day, can merge with the brand's own colour.
- Ramadan and Eid: the table, sharing and family; a natural space for food and retail brands.
- Season changes: summer openings, back to school or winter, matched with collection and product launches.
On days of remembrance, keep the language simple. Carrying the meaning of the day, rather than pushing the product forward, earns the brand more respect.
When should a seasonal campaign start?
Start early enough to leave comfortable room for idea approval and internal brand checks; the date will not move, so an idea that arrives late waits a whole year. We keep the process short: idea and approval, a shoot where needed, production, edit and delivery. On speed, two things are firm: we reply to every request within 24 hours, and on projects that combine CGI and AI we talk in days rather than weeks.
- Pick the day and the goal: sales, visibility or brand affection?
- Commit to one idea: if it cannot be told in a sentence, it will not land in the feed either.
- Decide the platform up front: for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, the vertical cut is usually the master.
- Clarify approvals: agree who signs off on product appearance, copy and brand colours.
- Protect the posting date: delivery should leave room in the posting plan before the day itself.

Examples from Clytech
Clytech is a CGI, FOOH and AI advertising studio based in Istanbul and London. We have produced 150+ projects for 85+ brands across 15+ countries, and seasonal moments make up a meaningful share of that work.
Paşabahçe New Year AI campaign: In this vertical campaign video for Paşabahçe's New Year season, the brand's glassware and tableware come together in scenes that capture the festive atmosphere. The idea balances seasonal warmth with the brand's refined aesthetic.
PROJECT VIDEO
Tadelle World Red Dress Day film: The doors of a fully Tadelle-branded metro train open and thousands of chocolates spill onto the platform. The colour of the day meets the brand's signature red. The film is part of the same campaign as the chocolate commercial, and the campaign reached over 45 million views in total.
PROJECT VIDEO
PUBG Mobile, 100th Year of the Republic: The game's iconic supply drops parachute onto the skylines of Izmir, Ankara, Mardin, the Black Sea region, Antalya and Istanbul. Rolled out across six regions, the FOOH campaign turned a familiar game element into a national celebration and passed 30 million views.
Suwen October 29 film: This cinematic film for Suwen brings historical heritage and futuristic visuals into the same frame. The spirit of Republic Day reaches the screen through the brand's fashion and art sensibility.
What format should a seasonal film be delivered in?
Design the film for the platform it will run on first; in most campaigns the master is vertical. Three of the four examples above were made in 9:16, while the Suwen film is 16:9. A vertical edit should show the idea in the opening seconds and still make sense with the sound off. Our article on vertical video CGI for Reels and TikTok is a good starting point for those decisions.
If you want a big moment in a real place, FOOH is an option: it creates an impossible event inside genuine city footage. Our FOOH advertising page shows how the format works.
Frequently asked questions
How do you find the right New Year ad idea?
Choose a seasonal symbol everyone knows and place your product inside it at an unexpected scale. If you can explain the idea in one sentence, you are on the right track.
Should a seasonal campaign use AI or CGI?
CGI leads when product accuracy and brand rules are strict; AI leads when many scenes and versions need to be explored quickly. Many projects use both, and the choice follows the brief.
What should brands watch for on national days or days of remembrance?
Keep the tone simple and respectful, and do not let the product take over the scene. Celebration days call for energy; remembrance days call for restraint.
Can one film work across several occasions?
Not easily if the idea is tied to a season, such as New Year lights. But you can keep the core scene and change the colour, copy and symbol layer to create versions for different dates.
